In chemistry we call this type of substance a catalyst such as platinum used in an automobile's exhaust system because it changes gases from one state to another state. Platinum, as in this case, etherizes or dissociates the fuel from a molecular subdivision to finer subdivisions; i.e., atomic and etheric or (plasma).
