What is a Diode?
"A diode is two-terminal electronic component that only conduct current in one direction." An ideal diode will have zero resistance in one direction and infinite resistance in reverse direction.
The most common type of diode is a p-n junction. In this type of diode p-type semiconductor (majority of charge carrier are holes) and n-type semiconductor (majority of charge carrier are electrons) material combine by different type of the fabrication method and form a p-n junction diode.
