Crystalloluminescence is the effect of luminescence produced during crystallization.
The abstract of an article by B. P. Chandra, V. Kalia and S. C. Datt of Rani Durgavati University (Jabulpur, India), entitled Crystalloluminescence: a new tool to determine the critical size of a crystal nucleus, states:
"There is a time lag between the achievement of supersaturation in a solution and the appearance of crystalloluminescence flashes from crystal nuclei. The incubation time of crystalloluminescence decreases systematically with the concentration of the solution. A new method based on crystalloluminescence measurements is proposed for the determination of the critical size of the crystal nucleus." Wikipedia, Crystalloluminescence
